The entrance to the Fourth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas is monitored by security equipment.

Everyone entering the courthouse is subject to the security screening process. Anyone returning to the facility after leaving will need to go through the security screening process again, regardless of how long they were outside the building.

Litigants should arrive early for court proceedings to allow time for security measures.

Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Security staff may remove offenders from the building and judges may hold violators in contempt of court.

Cell phones and pagers must be placed in the silent mode, unless otherwise instructed. Use of cell phones and pagers are not allowed in the courtrooms. Use of cell phones and pagers in other areas of the courthouse is permitted, however users should exercise discretion in their conversations being held in a public environment.

Individuals are not permitted to enter the courtroom with food or drink.

The following items may not be brought into the building: firearms, knives (including small pocket knives), scissors or anything with a cutting edge, no tools, any type of spray, no drugs or drug paraphernalia, no photographic or audio-visual equipment of any type includes cameras, video or audio recorders or players allowed without prior court approval. No pets (except “qualified service animals” within the meaning of the Service Animal Act).

Security officers will not store items for individuals or accept them as discarded property.
